Good Points
Easy to set up.
Bad Points
Very poor picture quality. Picture quality still poor when returned after repair under warranty even when they 'updated the software' Had high expectations when purchased but was very dissapointed with what I bought. Wouldnt buy Sony again.
The picture quality of our 18 year old JVC is far superior to the Sony.

I like the slim style after having one of the older models which took up much more space.
I bought it as I have faith in the Sony reputation.
I like the fact that the screen is not surrounded by lots of unnecessary cabinet.
Bad Points
Some of the menu options are a bit confusing to a geriatric like me but I expect younger customers manage them easily. I am gradually working out how all the buttons work.

The set does a very good job of upscaling freeview pictures.
3 HDMI ports and 2 scart.
Upscaled pictures from scart very good too.
Bad Points
Getting detailed program information with the info button very long winded.
No dedicated buttons for different inputs.
Sound a little weak but better than most.

Bought for my 83 year old mother to use when analogue was switched off. She can use it so thats fine for me
Bad Points
This does not have a dedicated subtitle on/off button on the remote. this means that i have set the titles to be on in the menu, which is ok for most viewing, but its too complicated for her to turn them off when she wants ie when football is on.

Good Points
Good television which has good picture and sound. On day one , it proved straightforeward to set up , tune in and operate.A good looking design also.
Bad Points
A minor point is the slight delay between switching on the (wall) power and the (TV)on/off switch itself before it will operateand the several seconds it takes to warm up /operate.
The instruction booklet is not as clearly written and laid out as it could be , and wading through multiple screen pages of not so obvious options, to change settings, is still daunting .

Size is perfect for small to medium sized rooms, it doesn't take over the whole room. Screen is very good for watching films.
Bad Points
Watching sports can be sketchy as image is pixelated. Also, the colour can be saturated on some shows producing an effect that looks as if the person has eczema around the mouth area.

Picture is a bit washed out in daylight. Sound is tinny, vibrating. I am most disappointed with the sound. My panasonic 32", which I bought a couple of months before the Sony, is better on all categories of your survey.

Sound is excellent. It was really easy to set up. We thought we were in an area that could not receive digital, as our Freeview box had not worked with our previous TV, but plugged in this TV, and it's all there in digital (or analogue if we want). We're really pleased with the product.
Bad Points
Image breaks up occasionally, the way digital pics do. If you sit to one side of the TV, rather than directly in front, the image can look pale. The stand does not raise the screen high enough for you to put a DVD player close to the base (and therefore near to the screen), so the whole arrangement takes up more room on the shelf. But all these things are outweighed by the advantages of a high quality flat screen TV, that takes up a lot less room than our previous monster!
