Bad Points
I have always been a big fan of Sony Ericson phones and prior to the spiro had the the K800i and C510 as really good walkman/camera phones. This phones were well designed, of good build quality and well thought out software. The spiro unfortunately has no such qualities. The general feel of build quality is poor. The screen instantly became scratched and scuffed just by being in my pocket and looked even worse that both of my much older K800i and C510 phones (which i started to use again as a replacement),

Considering that this a new phone the design of the software used on the phone takes a massive leap backwards compared with both of the above older phones. The music player, (if the phone is set to autokeypad lock), locks up if you are holding down the fast forward key for too many seconds. The fast forward button also does not speed up the longer you hold it down. (Imoprtant if you are listing to long mixes).

The layout of the menus in say text message section is also badly laid out and is instantly infuriating. If predictive text does not find the right word and you need to spell it, pressing "more" does bring up "spell" as the automatic first option. Instead you have to scroll through around 7 other rarely used options. Why? What idiot thought this design out. Upsetting considering that they already had this issues sorted in older phones.

The type of memory card has changed which is annoying if you shelled out for the old style used in the K800i or C510. There may well be a legitimate technical reason for this, though the old style were already pretty small.

The final icing on the cake was the fact that the phone does not link into my car stereo properly, again considering, that my older SE phones did, is a real step backwards.

I thought all of these above issues were faults and had the send the phone away and ended up e-mailing SE as Vodaphone said that they had fixed the issues and it was all working when, upon its return found nothing was fixed. Turns out from SE that the above issues are just the way the phone has been designed and are all intentional.

I only pay about £4 a month with cashback, which is a a good deal but not with this phone. My girlfiend went and bought me an old K800i before i lost my sanity and am much happier now. The joys of technology...when it works.
